So you may have seen instagram go crazy last weekend with Blogtacular shots, we were lucky enough to be there running a creative workshop in all of the breaks called ‘Make a Bracelet, Make a Friend’. This was our first time attending and I can’t believe it has taken us to year three to get there. We have been missing out! For anyone who doesn’t know what Blogtacular is, it’s a creative conference for bloggers to meet, share and inspire each other. It certainly did the job, we’ve left with our heads full of ideas and plans.
The conference started with photo walks, followed by a Paper Maker Party at West Elm where we were treated to different creative workshops dotted all over the store. We didn’t get a chance to visit them all but spotted some of our favourite makers out there – Zeena Shah, Susan Beech, Fran Stone and the Mollie Makes team. We were lucky enough to get a little portrait each from the wonderful Ella Masters, we love them!
Our workshop was called ‘Make a Bracelet, Make a Friend’ and was designed to help people meet new friends, especially those who were attending Blogtacular for the first time alone. It can be daunting walking into such a big event so this gave people somewhere to sit and have a chat while doing something crafty. The bracelets were made using little seed beads and initial charms. It was so good to hear people chatting about their blogs as they made their bracelets, the table was packed!
The best thing about Blogtacular? The people! I can’t explain how lovely it is to spend a day chatting about blogging and creative businesses with a group of like minded people (see us having a sneaky chat with Kate and Rachel from The Fold Line above!). We caught up with so many old friends (some who we haven’t seen for years!) and finally met some people we’ve been chatting to online for ages. It’s always great to make that transition from online to offline and Blogtacular was the perfect place to do this.
I really can’t recommend Blogtacular any more, it was such a brilliant day and we both left feeling so inspired. Thanks to Kat and Kelly and the rest of the team for putting on such an amazing event. We will certainly be back next year!
