Easy Ribbed Fingerless Mittens

I picked up the yarn for these mittens at a sale in a local craft shop; it’s Rowan Lima which is baby alpaca and so soft. I ended up going back the next week to pick up more because I enjoyed working with it so much. Rowan have produced a number of books which feature patterns specifically for the Lima wool, I bought the Homestead Classics one which has some amazing jumpers in it. Perhaps when I’ve improved my skills I’ll try one!

I completed these mittens in a couple of weeks; they were my first real knitted project which honestly means ANYONE can do them. The rib is achieved through a simple k2 p2across the right sides and p2 k2 across the wrong sides. Hannah is using the same pattern with another Rowan yarn – I’m excited to see how hers turn out!

Thank you! Yes hopefully I will be selling them! I’ve been wearing mine these past couple of days thanks to the AWFUL weather and i’ve been reminded of just how soft they are – the yarn is amazing x
