The Knitting & Stitching show is a crafter’s dream. Rooms full of yarn, fabrics and all the general crafting paraphernalia you could wish for. We’ve only ever been to K&S as visitors before but this year we’re going to be exhibiting at the Spring show with our kits and we’re super excited. To top it off we’ve got a giveaway for some free tickets, keep reading to find out how to enter.
In case you needed some knitting inspiration, how great is this knitted full English by Jessica Dance?!
The Knitting & Stitching show happens twice a year in London. The Autumn show in Alexandra Palace and the Spring show in Olympia, this year’s runs 3-6th March. We’ve only ever been to the Ally Pally show before and it’s always been pretty mental, but we’re told the Olympia show is a little quieter and easier to shop. It’s going to be weird being the other side of the stand but we’re sure we’ll get some time to sneak off and visit our favourites. Gotta get supplies for lots of new crafting projects!
Here’s our list of not-to-miss exhibitors:
- Floss & Mischief
- We met Genevieve, the brains behind Floss & Mischief, at the last K&S show. Her cross-stitch designs are beautiful and modern, just how we like our crafts to be! Our favourite is the trio of beetles and lots of the other designs include bugs, butterflies and moths, perfect for making a nod towards the taxidermy trend.
- Black Sheep Wools
Ok so this stand is dangerous. Every time we visit we spend far, far more than we anticipate. Black Sheep Wools sell yarn from places like Rowan and Debbie Bliss at discounted prices that are too good to refuse. Rosie got ten balls of Rowan Tumble there last time for £30, she made this jumper with it. They tend to make big piles on the floor of yarn bundles (still in their plastic 10-ball bags) and everyone just kind of goes wild sifting through it all. It’s amazing!
- Hannah Bass
- We also met Hannah last year at the Autumn K&S show. She only set up her tapestry design company a short while ago after quitting her job and selling her flat – eek! Her conviction has paid off though and we love her designs. It’s surprising how few modern tapestry designs are still available and Hannah’s are some of our favourites. They’re all based on city maps and the finished cushions look super modern and cool in any interior.
Sew Over It
Brilliant dressmaking patterns with some lovely kits and fabrics too. We also love owner Lisa’s vlogs, especially when her dog makes a guest appearance.
One of our firm favourites, TOFT brighten up any show they’re at with their swinging animals (from their book Edward’s Menagerie) and knitting and crochet kits. Last K&S show they even had a GIANT crochet flamingo. It was great.
We’re going to be there with our two current kits, the Knickers and EPP Cushion, and two brand new kits which we’ll be revealing closer to the time. Tickets to the show are £16 each on the door but we’ve got two pairs of tickets up for grabs. They’ll get you access to the show on any day except Saturday so you can visit all of those stands (and ours!). Enter below…
