Wool School 2013

On Monday evening we were lucky enough to be invited to drinks at The Royal Academy of Arts to celebrate Wool School. Wool School is an initiative run by The Campaign for Wool where students from across the UK get the opportunity to design a knitted jumper for one of 15 amazing brands including HOBBS, Barbour and Topshop. The winning jumpers have actually been produced by the brands and are being sold in stores in the run up to Christmas. They’re all amazing and we would happily buy every one! These are the winning women’s jumpers, which is your favourite?

We had a lovely evening looking at each of the jumpers and talking to some of the designers – we also met Jai’me Jan whose blog Boy Meets Fashion we love. He was wearing the most amazing bow tie and we said we’d try and make him a Liberty print one like Aaron’s.

Our favourite jumper of the evening was this beauty designed by Emma Lawrie from the University of Edinburgh for Folk Clothing. We love the large twists of red knitted tubes that create a 3D, tactile garment. We’re hoping to be able to get down to the Folk store to nab one!

We really enjoyed our evening at the RA and admiring all the students’ designs – they’re a super talented bunch! We’re off to our Rowan workshop at John Lewis Oxford Street tonight and might also be taking part in ‘Bloggers Hour’ between 5 and 6pm in-store. Come and watch us knit and have a chat!

I really like the one for topshop. If only there were more v-necked designs. I love knitted garments but so many are unflattering for my shape sadly
