Good evening everyone, how have your weeks been so far? We’re really excited for next week because it’s Wool Week!
Wool Week is a week-long series of events which aims to highlight the importance of wool as a natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre. One of our favourite uses for wool is obviously knitting and there are plenty of Wool Week knitting events to get involved with. There will be free knitting and wool-craft classes held at both the London and Edinburgh John Lewis stores throughout the week and we’ve been lucky enough to grab a place at one. They’re being run by some of the best and most fashion-forward knitting companies out there so do what you can to come along!
The drop-in sessions are open to everyone but the classes have limited spaces so email firstname.lastname@example.org to check availability if you’d like to attend one. We’re going to the Rowan Snood workshop on Thursday which we’re really excited about and are also hoping to ‘drop-in’ to the collar workshop on Saturday; perhaps see you there? Do say hello if you see us!
We’re also hoping to knit a hat each over the course of the week. We’ve got an amazing TOFT hat kit each so are planning to have a little race against each other… we’ll keep you updated on our progress!
If you have any plans for Wool Week we’d love to hear them, or share your wool-related projects with us on instagram – #newcraftsociety. Look forward to seeing them!
