Workshop FAQs

Please read this list of questions before attending a workshop. If you can’t find what you’re looking for do drop us an email at hello@thenewcrafthouse.com

Where are the workshops held?

All workshops will be held in our office near King’s Cross. We are about 10 minutes walk from the station. A map and full instructions will be sent out upon booking.

Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?

Nope, we have machines here for you to use! We are working with Janome so have Janome CXL301 machines for you to use. If you would rather bring along your own machine to use that is absolutely fine.

Help, I can’t sew! Can I still attend?

All workshops will have a description of who they are suitable for. If you’re unsure, just send us a quick message.

Do you provide any food?

For all day workshops we will provide breakfast (pastries and fruit) in the morning. We’ll also have an afternoon tea break with cake later on. Of course, tea, coffee and cold drinks are available throughout the day.

We don’t provide a full lunch but there are plenty of places near to buy food and you have an hour to go out and explore. You’re also welcome to stay in the workshop room if you’d prefer to bring your own food.

Can I book you for a private workshop?

Yes! We’d love to hear your ideas and can offer a big range of workshops. Please send us a message with what you’re after and we’ll get back to you asap.

  • I finished my jumper!! It *only* took around three years to knit but I've been in Italy for the past few days and finishing it just in time for the holiday was probably fate, it matched all of the colourful walls perfectly! Pattern is Shannon by @mariewallinknits πŸ’ πŸ’ πŸ’
  • Sorry we've gone a little quiet, we're both taking little trips this week. I'll leave you with these pretty Moroccan tiles πŸ’› we'll be back as usual from next week!
  • Our embroidery workshops with @ajpritchett are now less than two weeks away! We're so excited to have him visiting from the Lake District and sharing his exquisite embroidery skills with us. There are still some tickets left for the Saturday and Sunday classes, follow the link in our bio to grab your spot. ✨ Ps. All skill levels are welcome, including complete beginners! ✨
  • We've spent the whole day filming for a semi-secret project we should be able to share with you real soon. So excited to see the final edit, less excited to hear our own voices (why is that always so weird?) See our stories for more behind the scenes action! πŸŽ₯πŸŽ₯πŸŽ₯
  • Puppy sitting and bra making have been the orders of the day! Making the @clothhabit Harriet bra with beautiful lace from @finefrenchlaces. Eddie's learning a lot about sewing βœ‚βœ‚βœ‚πŸΆπŸΆπŸΆ
  • Sneaking a picture of @elisalex's sampler whilst she's busy teaching our third (and final for a while, boo!) embroidery workshop. Who's gonna have a go at naming the stitches?
