Gorgeous mother of pearl buttons made from real shell, 4-hole with a wide ring edge. Mother of pearl buttons are made from the shells of marine molluscs such as oysters and mussels. As all our buttons are deadstock we don't know the exact type of shell they are made from. Shell has been used to make buttons for hundreds of years as they can be carved easily. Although they look delicate they are actually very durable. Perfect size for jackets and blouses!
All our trim is deadstock left over from when a designer has finished sampling their collection.
Size: 20mm / 32L ('L' stands for ligne, the traditional unit for measuring buttons)
Price is per button. There are several variations that will be packed at random.
We have lots more buttons that aren't listed online. If you are looking for something specific send us an email or DM on Instagram. You can also come and have a look in person on a Saturday!
We try to take photos that are an accurate representation of our fabrics and their colours, but due to differences between devices and screens the colour may vary slightly. Unfortunately we are unable to offer samples as all of our fabrics are short run end of lines and will likely sell out by the time a sample is delivered. If you'd like to see a video of the fabric or more photos please send us an email or drop us a DM on instagram @newcrafthouse. If you are in London, you can also shop our fabric in person. You can find our opening times here.
*As all of our fabric and trim is deadstock we can't always be sure of the exact composition. We've given our best educated guess above!
