This ex-designer fabric is an exquisite lace. It is a guipure or 'bobinnet' lace. Scarlet flowers are connected with thin plaits of yarn rather than the whole fabric being backed in a mesh. This is a more delicate and labour intensive process than making standard lace. The design features 3D flower centres. The edge is finished and follows the outline of the design. Medium weight with a lovely structure, and lush, luxurious handle. Sheer and so special! Would make a gorgeous dress, sheer top, or use as a statement applique!
