This ex-designer trim is a bias binding. It is often used to finish raw edges or bind seams. It has two folded in edges and you can then fold it in half again. Quilters use it to bind the edges of their quilts and you can also us it to finish neckline or armhole edges instead of a facing. This biding is a polyester satin, it has a smooth feel and high sheen.
