CLASS OVERVIEW

A classic shirt is a wardrobe essential! With long sleeves, softened shoulders and a relaxed fit through the body, this Everyday Shirt pattern is the perfect mix between sophisticated and casual. It is the ideal addition to your capsule wardrobe that will get worn year after year. Learning to sew a shirt teaches you a range of essential skills like sewing a placket, yoke and collar. Over this two day course Lauren will teach you step by step to sew a professionally finished shirt. Sew it up in a classic crispy poplin for a smarter look, or a slinky crepe de chine for a more luxurious shirt - it's a very versatile pattern!

Please note: to save time in the workshop you will need to cut your paper pattern pieces and fabric before the workshop. Your pattern will be sent to you 2 weeks before the class so you will have plenty of time to do this. We can advise on what size to pick if you need help.

WHAT WILL THIS COURSE COVER?

+ How to sew a yoke using the burrito method
+ How to sew a collar and attach it to your shirt
+ How to sew a sleeve placket and cuff to give your shirt a traditional, professional finish
+ How to sew a felled seam
+ How to create a professional and neat button placket

This is a practical class where you will leave with a brand new Everyday Shirt.

PAST STUDENT SAY:

"A huge thank you to Lauren, who really helped us and had absolutely endless patience! She even stayed later than 5pm to help us finish our shirts. She and everyone else around also made the atmosphere really light and fun. I will definitely be checking out other courses :)"
