The workshop will take place in our shop just around the corner from Broadway Market. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations.
PROJECT:
Do you have an overlocker you're not sure how to use? Or are you thinking about treating yourself to a new overlocker? If so our Overlocker Introductory Course is perfect for you! In the first half of the class you'll learn all the features of an overlocker and how to use them. In the second half of the lesson you'll sew up a basic jersey pattern and see how an overlocker takes your sewing to the next level!
STUDENTS WILL LEARN:
+ Basic features of an overlocker and how to use them
+ How to thread an overlocker
+ Finishing seams (wovens and knits)
+ Sewing with the overlocker
+ Rolled hems
+ Gathering
CLASS INCLUDES:
+ Use of our Pfaff Hobbylock 2.0 and Hobbylock 2.5 overlockers
+ Tilly and the Buttons Nora Top sewing pattern
+ Tea, coffee and biscuits
STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING:
+ 1.5m of medium weight jersey/ knit fabric
+ Matching thread (our overlockers will be threaded blue/black/grey or pink, but if you need another colour please bring it along!)
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is suitable for anyone looking to gain confidence sewing with an overlocker. You do not need to have ever used an overlocker before.
